WHAT’S YOUR SHELF LIFE?
All of our juices are made from raw, organic, high-nutrient produce. Each juice contains live enzymes, nutrients, vitamins, and love. When you get your juice, make sure to refrigerate it as soon as you get home. We put an expiration date on each bottle but ideally you want to drink the juice within the first 2-3 days of its original manufacture date to get the maximum benefit.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOUR JUICE AND THE JUICE I MAKE AT HOME?
Have you ever seen images of people stepping on fresh grapes and all the juice coming out? Well that’s how they juiced since the dawn of time and the science as to why pressing juice is best is now becoming clear in the 21st century. Most home juicers are centrifugal juicers. This causes the juice to heat up while the blade is spinning. Heating any food past 118 degrees kills the enzymes and good bacteria. This is why raw, cold-pressed juice is so good for you.
Juice at grocery stores has been pasteurized with heat or pressure, both of which don’t allow you to benefit from live enzymes, good bacteria, and probiotics.
We buy our organic produce in bulk and find that many people who buy our juice have a juicer at home. They tell us that often they don’t have the time to juice and the cost of buying produce in small amounts ends up being near our retail price.
Here are 3 reasons you want to drink organic, fresh juice…every day.
- The food supply is deficient: Over the past 100 year, soils around the world have been depleted of their vitamins, minerals, and nutrients. For example, when your grandparents ate an apple, it contained as much nutrients as 10 apples today. When they ate a small salad, it would be the equivalent of you eating a bucket full of salad. The reality is our stomachs cannot eat enough fresh, organic produce each day to get the adequate amount of nutrition our bodies need. Juicing allows for a high concentration of vitamins, minerals, nutrients and enzymes to enter the body and help it function optimally.
- Much of the food supply is toxic: The typical piece of produce on a supermarket shelf is over a month old. It was picked green and it was most likely grown with pesticides. Some think we can just wash off the chemicals but the reality is that many of them end up inside the produce through absorption. Produce grown with pesticides may contain 1/3 as many nutrients as organically grown produce. Pesticides kill good bacteria in the soil and prevent that bacteria from digesting inorganic materials in the soil and delivering those nutrients to the plant. Organic produce contains more organic water content, which in turn makes for a greater amount of nutrition, especially when juicing.
- Our bodies are toxic: A few centuries ago the air was fresh, the water was clean, we grew most of our own food in our own back yards, and life was more simple. Today with a growing population, the demand on our natural resources is truly taxed. We live in cities that have air pollution, our food is grown with poisonous chemicals, our water has chemicals in it, we take antibiotics that kill off our good bacteria, we don’t sleep, we are tired, we are indoors most days away from adequate sun exposure…ok well you get the point.
The body cannot detoxify fast enough if we are not helping it do so. This is why we must find ways to get nutrients into our bodies that help detoxify the different channels of elimination. These include the liver, gallbladder, skin, lymphatic system, and more. Every day the toxins accumulated can clog up the liver. The liver is the chemical treatment plant of the body. If you can detox your liver, you can have a clean waste treatment plant and all the toxins that come in will more easily leave.

HOW MANY DAYS SHOULD I DETOX/CLEANSE?
Just one day per month is a great way to help the body maintain optimal health. What is your goal for detoxing? Are you trying to lose weight? That may take a few days to meet your goal. If you have a degenerative disease you may want to cleanse for a longer period of time. If you are wanting to get a new start on life, we encourage at least 3 days to help reboot the body’s organs and systems.
WHAT DO I DO TO PREPARE FOR DETOXING?
We include a how-to guide in each Detox Box. We can also email you a more in depth how-to. From our experience, we suggest you mentally prepare and physically prepare by drinking 50% of your body weight in ounces the day before a cleanse and stay away from any junk food, alcohol, and caffeine. After your cleanse, continue drinking lots of water and focus on eating primarily raw fruits and vegetables. This helps get your digestion restarted and working optimally.
HOW DO I COME OFF OF A CLEANSE?
Your body has experienced a lot of change over the last few days. To make your transition back to solid foods safely, it is important to focus on fruits and vegetables with high water content, such as cucumbers, celery, apples, melons, and berries. Your cleanse booklet will provide more details.
SO I GOT MY DETOX BOX, AND I AM HUNGRY ENOUGH TO EAT AN ELEPHANT. WHERE IS THE ZOO?
Save the elephants. If there is one lesson you will learn when detoxing, it is the the power of your own appetite. This can vary depending on how toxic your body is and how faithfully you stick with the plan. If you miss your scheduled drink time and then miss some water, you may find yourself very, very hungry. Consider this detox a challenge that you can and will overcome. Drink more water between juices. Staying hydrated helps to curb your appetite. If you are still starving at the end of the day, add an additional juice or 2 to your daily cleanse regime. If you are highly active, or above average in weight and/or height, you may require more calories throughout the day. For example, the tall male will need more to drink than a petite female.
WILL I NEED TO SPEND THE DAY IN THE BATHROOM?
It all depends on how toxic you are. If your colon is clogged, then most likely your body needs to get rid of toxins and it will do just that when you start giving it the gift of juice. It really just depends. If you know you have not been having bowel movements like you should, then yes your body will need a bathroom more than someone who stays pretty regular. If you eat a lot of junk food, meat, etc. then yes you will be going to the bathroom more than usual. If you drink a lot of alcohol, then yes your body needs to rid itself of the toxins ingested. In with the good, out with the …ok you get it.
I AM ON A CLEANSE AND I CAN’T HAVE A BOWEL MOVEMENT TO SAVE MY LIFE, WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Don’t worry, be happy mon. The good news is that you realize you should be pooping and you are not. Most people are happy with one or two bowel movements a week.
There are a few things you can do to help get your colon back on track. Remember when drinking only juice, no digestion is needed. This means your body will slowly cleanse itself of old toxins and waste and will begin to repair other areas that need some assistance.
There are a number of things you can do to speed up bowel movements:
#1- Drink more water. This is the number one cause of constipation. You should drink at least 50% of your body weight in ounces of water every single day to maintain optimal health.
#2 – Exercise. This is an amazing way to stimulate your colon. Just a 20 minute walk outdoors will help more than you know.
#3 – Fresh Air. The body needs fresh oxygen to energize itself and rid the body of toxins. What many don’t know though is that with more fresh air, your digestion can actually improve. Take 5 minutes outside today and take in some deep breaths.
#4 – Gratitude and Stress Reduction. If you sneak up on a cat and scare it while it is eating the digestion will stop and not begin again for up to 5 hours. The same is the case when we stress out. The body believes you are in an emergency and won’t digest food. Take a few minutes at the beginning and end of each day to count 10 things you are thankful for. This will help you lower your stress levels and experience better digestion.
AFTER I FINISH MY CLEANSE, HOW OFTEN SHOULD I DRINK A JUICE?
We want you to consume 10-15 servings of fruits and vegetables each day to get all the nutrients your body needs. The truth is that this can be difficult. If you find yourself not meeting this ideal, this is why we encourage juicing on a regular basis.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I CLEANSE?
Some believe once per month. Others once per quarter for a few days. If you change the oil in your car every few thousand miles, ask yourself how often you should help eliminate the bad from your body?
SHOULD I DETOX AT WORK?
You will be drinking water or juice every hour and your body will need to get rid of that liquid just as often. This means you will be visiting the potty a lot. If you can afford a bathroom break once every hour – work is a great place to detox.
WILL I BE TIRED DURING A CLEANSE?
Everyone is different. Some days of cleansing you will have more energy than ever. Other days of cleansing you will feel wiped out. It really depends. When the body is cleansing it is focusing on fixing anything that needs repair. At times this means high energy levels are sacrificed for building up the body. If you are tired, we encourage you to take it easy. Your body will be better off because of your decision and determination.

WILL I LOSE WEIGHT DURING MY CLEANSE?
It all depends. The body does something amazing to save you from toxins…it encapsulates those toxins in fat cells. This means that when detoxing you often will begin to lose weight. This may not always be the case but one thing is for sure, you are helping the body relearn how to function correctly. This primarily begins with eliminating toxins via going to the bathroom. If you want to lose weight, the safest way is to rid the body of toxins via healthy and regular bowel movements.
HOW MANY CALORIES ARE IN A CLEANSE?
Our 16oz juices are all approximately 200 calories each. A cleanse with 6 juices could be around 1200-1800 calories depending on which juices you select. Calories are a funny thing though. Calories are just a measure of energy. The body knows what to do with calories from fruits and vegetables. It uses them to build the body and not pack on the pounds.
CAN I EXERCISE OR WORKOUT WHILE DETOXING?
Absolutely! Exercise is very important to help rid the body of toxins and also helps with digestion. Sweat produced while exercising also helps rid the body of toxins. When cleansing we encourage you to walk or do mild physical activity so that your body can use the majority of it’s energy to restoring and repairing itself.
SHOULD I DRINK TEA, SODA, OR COFFEE DURING A CLEANSE?
To get the full benefits of a detox, we encourage you to remove all caffeine and sugary drinks from your diet.
